2008 London Race for Life starts at Battersea




Battersea kicked off the London Cancer Research UK Race for Life series. Leader of the Consevative Party David Cameron was at the start.


Julia Gristwood continued her record of running all the Battersea events making this her fifteenth.



The weather was warm and sunny.


The celebrities were interviewed at the start by ITV.


Actress Phoebe Thomas finished the race in fourth place.




Paula Radcliffe and Gloria Hunniford

spoke to the runners and walkers

before the start.

The race was organised by Becky Lomax
assisted by volunteers
and other Cancer Research UK staff.




There were many groups running and walking together.


The Welsh Guard were one of them.


The Cancer Research UK Scientist assisted in the finish funnels.

City of London Site Visit

Less than 2 Weeks to Battersea






The Battersea Cancer Research UK Race for Life is less than 2 weeks away on 07 May.

Paula Radcliffe will be starting the race.

London Race for Life Events 2008

Dates for this years Cancer Research UK Race for Life will be anounced 21 January 2008.

This year Becky Lomax is Senior Race Organiser, taking over From Lizzie Cummings who is taking a year off to travel the world. Becky will organise the Battersea Race. Joff Charters takes over most of Beckys 2007 races. His races are Richmond, City of London, Blackheath and Regents Park. Natasha Etienne again will be at Crystal Palace. This year at Crystal Palace there will be an option to run 10k. Two new Race Organisers join the London Team. Rosannah Dawood takes on; Hampstead and Enfield. And Jemma Molloy; Croydon, Epsom and Kempton.
