Bernie BarnabyWhile a member of St. Albans Striders Bernie was part of organising teams for club Road and Cross Country races.
Bernie was athletics track manager at Westminster Lodge, St. Albans for two years. During that time he organised road races, cross country races, swim run duathlons and Triathlon training camps. Events included the St. Albans Half Marathon and St. Albans Sunrise Duathlon.
Bernie was first involved in Race for Life when asked to design the course for the first St. Albans event. Due to the increased numbers entering he was ask to designed a 1 lap course for the St. Albans event. For the first time he helped on the day, setting up the course and organising marshals. In the following years he assisted event organisers pre-event and on the day at events in Herts, Beds and Bucks.
After meeting Lizzie Cummings for the Enfield Race for Life he started working on the London Races. This led to the present situation working with the London Events Team on the Cancer Reseach UK Race for Life and 10K Events. He is involved in both pre-event planning and on the day setup, specialising in course design and setup.
